Hard Work in San Lucas.

Moving a Mountain
Carter Talbot
Today we all had a little trouble getting out of bed, but once we did, the group was ready to go. Today was a full day of work got to the site at 8:00 am and left at 5:00pm. The team was so good at finding a task and just getting it done.  We started filling in the trench where we built the wall. We moved a couple tons of dirt, and no one complained about anything. When we took a break for lunch we all were day-dreaming about rain, but when we got to the work site the rain came and it poured. So we stopped for the lightning then got back to work in the mud and water. When we all finished the work we went back to the compound and I had devotion after dinner and God definitely talked through me because I was not planning to do much but it was longer than I planned.

Today I was the first selfish one and was very excited to be welding and not moving tons of dirt.  So Josh and I set to do some work on the new gates for the new property.  We were very excited but as the day drug on and it seemed to have no end in sight every time we flipped the gates to do some more welding the amount of welding grew and grew.  It didn’t seem like we were getting anywhere.  But we keep welding and welding.  We did not come prepared to weld so we had to share a pair of leather gloves, they did get us some welding helmets so this year I will not get burned and look like a very strange raccoon.  The rain came with a vengeance today, but Josh and I were under a carport and we were kind of feeling a little spoiled.
Last year I found that I am not a very good welder and this year it was confirmed the welds will hold but just don’t look at them because they look like chicken poop (You’re welcome Rudy).
Last night a few of us went to the local rec. center and played some basketball and we had a blast.
Tomorrow we will be doing VBS for about 100 children so please pray for our team as we make final preparations, and that God will use us to share with these children.  Also pray for they language barrier that we can share the love of God.
God is Good!!!
